The mission of Sparta High School is to assure that students aretrained to think clearly, communicate effectively, prepare for a worthwhile career, appreciate our multi-cultured heritage, and recognize the dignity and worth of the individual so that they can take their place as responsible citizens of our country.

Sparta Township is home to 18,000 residents. The school district operates a Pre-K through 12 educational program for over 4000 students, it is organized into three elementary schools (Pre-K  -  K,   1 - 3, and 4 - 5), one middle school (6 - 8) and one senior high school (9 – 12). There are classes for most children with learning disabilities and those with academic artistic and musical talent. The high school offers numerous honors and advanced placement classes across the curricula.

Sparta High School is a four-year, public high school that strives to provide a quality education for all of its students. The single most important role of the school is to empower students to become autonomous learners who will continue to recognize and solve problems throughout their lives. Through its curriculum, Sparta High School will achieve this goal bychallenging its students to embrace new and innovative ideas, while fostering the courage to support and uphold ethical values and personal convictions. Creating an environment conducive to learning and open to advances intechnology will enable its students to derive considerable pleasure from both intellectual and artistic pursuits, providing the best opportunities for academic advancement in the future.

An additional role of the school is to develop intellectually and vocationally prepared students, who demonstrate strong moral and social concerns and are capable of participating in both domestic and foreign affairs. Thus, the school will instill in its students, knowledge of, and respect for, the diverse cultural heritage of the United States and the world.
