GPA CALCULATION AND HONOR ROLL REQUIREMENTS
Report Card GPA
Report Card GPA is used only for Honor Roll purposes. It is computed by taking the sum of the quality point values associated with the letter grades (ex. A = 4.0, A- = 3.75, etc.) for each course taken during the marking period. That total is divided by the number of courses the student was enrolled in for that quarter. For each honors and advanced placement course, the numerical equivalent of each grade of C or better is increased by .5 (ex. A = 4.5, A- = 4.25, etc.)

Rank GPA
Rank GPA is used for class rank purposes. It is computed by taking the sum of the quality point values associated with the final letter grades (ex. A = 4.0, A- = 3.75, etc.) for each course taken during the year multiplied by the course's potential credits (ex. 4.0 x 5 credits = 20 quality points). The total number of quality points achieved is then divided by the total number of potential credits for the year. For each honors and advanced placement course, the numerical equivalent of each grade of C or better is increased by .5 (ex. A = 4.5, A- = 4.25, etc.). The GPA that is printed on the final report card only represents current year data. It DOES NOT include data from previous years of high school.

Starting with the Class of 2016, Honors courses with the numerical equivalent of a C or better will receive an additional one half quality point.  AP courses with the numerical equivalent of a C or better will receive one additional full quality point.

Senior Class Rank Information
Senior class rank information WILL NOT be updated until mid September.  All seniors will receive their 6th semester grade point average and class rank in mid-September at a Senior/Counselor meeting held during the school day.  The 7th semester rank will be issued to seniors in February which will serve as their final rank and GPA.

HONOR ROLL REQUIREMENTS
Honor Roll is determined by a student's grade point average for all marks earned in a given quarter. Honor Roll GPA is calculated by determing the sum of the numerical equivalent of the letter grades divided by the total number of courses taken during that marking period.
Principal's Scholar - GPA of 4.0 and above
Scholar - GPA of 3.75 to 3.99
