Course Title: History of Genocide

Course Length: Half Year (Seniors Only)

Within this half-year course, students will be immersed in the study of human atrocities beginning in the early 20th Century with the Armenian Genocide and coursing through the Holocaust, the Cambodian “Killing Fields,” the genocides in Bosnia and Rwanda, and the first genocide of the 21st Century in Sudan.Students will also explore what situational forces may compel ordinary people to commit evil and evaluate the efficacy of the international community’s attempts to prevent genocide and punish its perpetrators. This course complies with the New Jersey State Mandate for Holocaust and Genocide Education
