Course Title: Contemporary Issues

This course seeks to help students make sense of the shifting world around them by analyzing and tracking news sources over time from a variety of media inputs. Areas studied can include: the relationship between government and business; global economic issues; changes in energy and environmental policy; affects of social control; the multifaceted issues of modern health care; the current state of education in the United States; global defense policy; issues of international and domestic oppression and other “hot topics” that constitute current events.
