This course continues the study of American History, concentrating on the Great Depression and the Second World War through the contemporary United States and the age of globalization. Special emphasis is placed upon the relationship of our history to contemporary national and international issues. A variety of materials and strategies are used in the investigation of such themes as War, Violence, Environment Problems, the Depression, Foreign Policy, Civil Rights and other vital historical concerns. The organization of the course may be topical or chronological, and utilizes primary and secondary source materials in researching and drawing evidence-based conclusions about historical problems and issues.
